What is CaraMaps Premium?
CaraMaps is a free, community-driven app listing more than 100,000 places across Europe for motorhome, campervan and van travellers: service areas, campsites, car parks, nature spots, hosts… The free version is enough to find a stopover, filter by services (water, electricity, waste disposal…), create trips, and check place information and reviews from the community.
CaraMaps Premium is the subscription that unlocks exclusive features to plan and enjoy your trips with peace of mind. You can become Premium directly in the CaraMaps app on iPhone and Android from the “Profile” tab, or on the CaraMaps website.
How much does CaraMaps Premium cost?
There are two plans:

On the yearly plan, Premium works out at about €2 a month. The monthly plan is handy if you only travel a few weeks a year.
The 8 features included in CaraMaps Premium
1. The Motorhome GPS
This is the headline feature. You enter your vehicle’s dimensions and specifications once, and the GPS plans a route suited to its size: it avoids low bridges and narrow roads. You can also:
- see toll prices and choose to avoid motorways or tolls;
- get real-time speed limit alerts;
- follow voice guidance and the 3D map;
- choose between two suggested routes.
Your destination can be a place listed on CaraMaps (using the button on its page), an address, GPS coordinates or a point selected with a long press on the map. Since June 2026, the GPS also appears on your vehicle’s screen: the motorhome GPS is compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
2. Offline mode
In the mountains, in dead zones or abroad, the signal often drops just when you are looking for a stopover. With offline mode, you download maps of your next destinations in advance and access place information without a connection.
3. Help for repairs
An equipment, electrical or mechanical issue on the road? Describe the problem in the app and follow the suggested checks step by step, with advice tailored to your situation. If the problem persists, CaraMaps shows you nearby garages.
4. Travel ideas
The Premium subscription gives you access to a directory of trips all over Europe, published by other travellers. You can filter them by interests, destinations and favourite themes.
5. Advanced Filters
Narrow your search by budget, opening dates, rating, and the height and width of your vehicle. You only see stopovers you can actually reach.
6. The built-in Level
No need to dig your spirit level out of the cupboard: the app helps you park as flat as possible for a calm night, without sliding to the edge of the bed.
7. No ads
Use the app without any ad interruptions.

How to subscribe to CaraMaps Premium
In the app
Open your Profile and tap “Become Premium”. You can pay by card or with your Apple or Google account. In the app, the subscription renews automatically: to stop it, cancel from the App Store or Google Play before the renewal date.
On the website
Log in to your account on the CaraMaps website, go to the Premium page, click “Go for it” and enter your card details.
Do you have a promo code for Premium?

Is CaraMaps Premium worth it?
The Premium subscription is especially useful if:
- you travel several times a year and want a single app for stopovers, route planning and navigation;
- your vehicle is tall, wide or heavy and you want to avoid nasty surprises under a bridge;
- you travel abroad or in areas with poor mobile coverage;
- you are new to motorhoming and like being guided when something breaks down.
