It is true that the stereotype that we have of a RV driver rather corresponds to a retired couple with no children. However, many RV drivers choose to go on an adventure with their family… and with their offspring. Traveling by motorhome with children, nothing better…
However, it is not always easy… Is there a magic formula for traveling by motorhome with children ? Certainly not … But, some tips are always good to take before engaging you and your family in a great expedition.
1) Before traveling by motorhome with children :
– Make suitcases with your kids in order that they care for and take part in preparations for the journey.
– If they are older enough, feel free to leave them organize their own luggage, it will show them that you trust them ! (Anyway, check it before the big day !)
2) During the trip by camper with children :
« When will we arrive ? We are still far ? I want to pee ! Dad, Mom, I’m hungry ! ». This terrible usual questions that absolutely all parents fear during holiday departures…
– A classic for kids not to get bored during the trip by camper are board games. From the traditional card game to the sensational video games or the invention of simple riddles on the road, your children will be delighted and will look forward the next trip by motorhome in family.
– Also remember to take music, coloring books and books in order to relax your children or even make them sleep…
– Do not forgive to take breaks every two hours if possible, move your legs and get some fresh air, it feels good ! Your trip by motorhome with your children will be much more pleasant.
– While traveling by motorhome with children, bring sweets (candy, cakes, drinks …) for your kids (and you), it always works to occupy them. (But do not overdo it too much anyway…)

3) The arrival and the visit of different locations :
Once on the site, you are often exhausted and you need to rest at the pool, nevertheless, your children are determined to do the contrary. After this long journey in motorhome with the family, they are now all excited to discover a new place and make new friends.
Be patient, this is the story of a few hours. Spend time with them, and then, you can take the sun and relax in front of your camper…
Regarding external visits with your camper, try to make them attractive and fun for your children. Whether in town or in the countryside, do not hesitate to plan trips in advance with them and vary pleasures: once they decide, once it is you: each turn and everyone is happy to travel by motorhome in family !
