Fishing in the UK:
While fishing in England and Wales, you must respect some specific rules. These regulations concern the size of the fish you can keep, or the closed seasons where you can’t fish depending on the areas and regions.
You have to know that if you fish some species like salmon, trout, freshwater fish or eel, a licence is required. Children between 12 and 16 can get it for free, and those under 12 don’t need a licence.
Be careful, anyone can be fined up to £2,5000 for fishing without a rod fishing licence!
It’s also important to know that each site has its own rules. So make sure you know the site’s rules before you go fishing.
